Romelu Lukaku is set to join Man Utd after they saw off competition from Chelsea for his transfer.
Romelu Lukaku has resisted Chelsea's 11th-hour bid to hijack his move to Manchester United, with the Belgian international set to undergo a medical in LA later today.
United have agreed a fee of £75m plus add-ons for the 24-year-old, who will become the second most expensive transfer in British football.
Chelsea had believed they were leading the race for Lukaku, who had indicated to sources close to him that a return to Stamford Bridge was his favoured option.
But Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward stunned Chelsea's hierarchy this week by agreeing a deal with Everton.
Confirmation of the deal was announced by United on Saturday morning.
Old Trafford sources added that the striker was likely to undergo his medical  later in the day and stay in LA, where he will meet up with his new teammates who fly out for their pre-season tour on Sunday.
He should be a United player in time to train with the rest of the squad at UCLA on Monday.
In a statement United said: "Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. The transfer is subject to a medical and personal terms.
"A further announcement will be made in due course."
